Mushroom Project
Eco-Clean Ghana Foundation produces mushrooms from rice bran, wheat bran and sawdust, which would otherwise be considered waste. ECG trains and empower women and youth to produce these mushrooms for their professional development.

Mushrooms are a good cash crop - they are easy to grow and brimming with protein, vitamins and
minerals. The time from spawn and harvest can be as short as three months.
There are over 30,000 types of mushroom that have been identified but there are still many have not yet been discovered. The types that can grow well in Ghana are; oyster mushroom, shiitake, wood ear, straw mushroom etc. Out of all these types, oyster mushrooms are the easiest to grow in Ghana.
